Yaouank means "young" in Breton, and this festival aims to convey Breton culture to keep its eternal youth. The festival was born in 1999, of the desire to associate young people with the dynamism of the Breton culture. Its 19th edition will take place in Rennes and the neighboring communes, from 1 to 18 November 2017.
The festival is free for young people under the age of 18 and more than 300 volunteers from the member associations of the Skeudenn federation contribute to its smooth running.

Breton music loves crossroads, encounters and exchanges with other shores and cultures, as seen in the festival's eclectic programming. And as Glenn Jegou says, "there is no limit to cultural crosses. From the moment the tempo of the various dances is respected, the Breton music goes very well with electro, hip-hop and even punk.
The multiple musical crossings proposed by Yaouank are the opportunity to discover or to rediscover the different Breton dances (gavottes, ridées, rond Saint-Vincent, Plinn ...) at the biggest fest-noz of Brittany which traditionally closes the last day of the festival .
