The St Pierre Cathedral of Rennes
The staff at the Kyriad Rennes Sud hotel will advise you in discovering Rennes and its region throughout your stay.
An extraordinary monument
Located in the heart of the historic district of Rennes, the Saint-Pierre Cathedral of Rennes offers an astonishing mix of architectures, due to its slow construction.
A part of History of France
Built under Louis XIV, Saint-Pierre Cathedral is the only Breton cathedral designed on a model of Roman basilica. Spread over several centuries, its construction was very long! The cathedral was rebuilt and decorated in the second half of the 19th century. The coronations of the dukes and duchesses of Brittany took place in this cathedral.
On the occasion of its renovation between 2009 to 2014, works have allowed the Cathedral to regain its brilliance.
Among the treasures of St. Peter's Cathedral, there is a 16th century altarpiece, processional crosses and much more. You can admire the chandeliers, the great organs and the figures of Anne de Bretagne and Duguesclun in the paintings.
The cathedral is open every day from 9.30am to 12am and from 3pm to 6pm.

You may also discover the cathedral accompanied by a guide for 5€ per person.
